Chapter 7: Ignorance, Hatred, Haters and Negative Energy
Dear God, I don’t want to be like them. Keep me being different. I love the lane I’m in.
For every bit of truth you find in yourself that brings you happiness, you will always find others who become upset by the serenity you find in your own understanding. As a spiritual bisexual male living in an area that is not very conducive to people that think outside of the box, I have experienced this on numerous occasions. A large amount of the love and knowledge I hope to spread with this book comes from experiences with close-minded and suppressive individuals who doubted my value and potential. Rather than stoop to their level of destructive negative attitude and teaching, I used their projection of hatred to fuel my dream that other people who have experienced prejudice on their journey of self-discovery might read this and find something that encourages them to not only continue their search for self, but to be proud of it. For every good intention you have, you will find a negative reaction to meet it. This can be understood by understanding simple physics. For every action there will be an equal and opposite reaction.
This is an inescapable law of the universe. Know that you may not be able to control the haters of ignorant attitudes, but you can certainly change your reaction to them. This is something that is much easier said than done. It means more than just speaking about awareness but practicing it. Learning that just because people are against you, doesn’t mean that you must be against them as well, is a very powerful lesson that will allow your journey of self to continue moving forward without interruptions.
Hating popular things, doesn’t make you an interesting person.

Resist the need to people please. You alone are enough. You don’t have anything to prove to anybody. The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them. Sometimes silence is a really good answer. No matter how carefully you choose your words, they’ll always end up twisted by others. Don’t waste your time with explanations, people only hear what they want to hear.

You can’t always be nice. That’s how people take advantage of you. Sometimes you have to set boundaries. I don’t regret burning bridges. I regret that some people weren’t on those bridges when I burnt them. Sometimes I think of something so wrong and inappropriate that my little black heart skips with delight.

Insults are the last resort of insecure people with a crumbling position trying to appear confident.
I don’t hold grudges, I remember facts. The best revenge is to live well. Remember, you can’t get ahead if you’re trying to get even. Don’t allow your wounds to turn you into a person you are not. The fault is the blamer, spirit sees nothing to criticize. No matter how badly people treat you, never drop down to their level, just know you’ve surpassed such low levels of existence, and walk away.
Don’t hate, meditate. Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place. It’s not always easy to hug a hedgehog, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. Be the light in the darkness.

Don’t ever mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance, or my kindness for weakness. Remove anger from situation, be wise enough to walk away from nonsense. Your perception of me reflects you. My reaction to you is an awareness of me. Haters don’t really hate you, its anger displacement, they hate themselves and you’re a reflection of what they wish to be.

When you point the finger, there’s three more pointing back. Being positive does not mean ignoring the negative. Being positive means overcoming the negative.
A positive attitude may not solve all my problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Haters are so quick to judge a book by its cover; they don’t know nor care what’s in my heart. It’s alright, because those that actually read the book appreciate it that much more.

I’d rather be disliked for who I am then liked for who I am not.
